Mark was born and raised in Nelson, NE. After graduating High School, and went to Colby Community College to run Cross Country and Track. He then transferred to the University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK) to continue competing in Cross Country and Track. Mark received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Management Emphasis at UNK.
After graduating from UNK, Mark obtained his MBA in Human Capital Management from Bellevue University while working various sales related positions in Kearney and Grand Island, most recently at Gray Television (10/11 and Local4) as a Marketing Executive.
In March 2020, he started the Mark Porter Insurance Agency and took over a Farmers Insurance agency in Grand Island. Mark has a passion for helping people and loves being involved in the community. Since taking over the agency Mark has sponsored various nonprofit events, including the Leadership Tomorrow Golf Classic. He is currently on the board for Grace Cancer Foundation and serves as the Vice Chair in 2022.
Mark enjoys the insurance industry and helping customers understand their coverage so they can get a complete picture of what he, and Farmers Insurance can do for them. Mark is also available to help clients go through the process of an insurance claim if the need arises.
